Born Joanna Noelle Levesque in

 

Foxborough, Massachusetts December 20, 1990, the pop singer with the five octave range began her show business career knocking the socks off producers with an audition for Kids Say the Darndest Things On The Road In Boston.

Immediately afterward, she was given a chance to strut her stuff on stage, wowing a live audience with Aretha Franklin's Respect.

A subsequent guest spot on Oprah Winfrey brought the young singer nationwide attention. However, it was an appearance on the TV show, America's Most Talented Kids, which eventually led to a record contract with Blackground Records.

Worldwide notoriety followed in 2004 with her hit single Leave (Get Out) which went on to beat Usher's nineteen week hold on LAUNCH.

In March 2006, JoJo began her movie acting career with a big-screen debut in Aquamarine starring alongside Emma Roberts and Sara Paxton, and next co-starred with Robin Williams in the film comedy RV.

Her sophomore album, "High Road," was released on October 17, 2006.

Romantically, JoJo has been linked to D.C. United soccer player Freddy Adu with whom she recently ended a one-year relationship.
